My Journey

After bartending for many years, I decided to shake things up and change career paths. I enrolled at Actualize Coding Bootcamp to become a software engineer. I have always had a curious mind and wanting to understand how things work. Looking at a bigger picture only to break it down piece by piece. I enjoyed this concept in bartending, yes, I know the drink tastes good, but what did it take to get there. This is a concept I am linking directly to my future in the software industy.

Abilities

Capstone Project (Drinking Buddy): Personally built a web app that allows users to sign-up and log in, search for restaurants/bars based on daily drink specials and find them on a map through the use of Javascript, Ruby on Rails, CSS, and HTML.
Bootcamp: Learned fundamentals and best practices in full-stack web development in areas of project architecture, backend, frontend, and how to effectively self-teach new technologies
-Generated technical requirements and determined the most effective solutions, created wireframes, designed schema, and researched outside resources
-Built and tested the backend, incorporating external APIs
-Created pages and RESTful routes, made web requests to retrieve data, formatted and styles results, incorporated libraries and themes

About

When I'm not crafting cocktails (like the ones above) or writing lines of code, you'll probably catch me running the lakeshore trail...that is, if you can catch me! Currently, just have one marathon completed but looking to run the 6 world majors. When it's time to unwind, relaxing is eating pizza, drinking an IPA, and watching pretty much any sport.
